  多智钦仁波切的重要性与龙钦宁提的作用

  ——东珠仁波切访谈录


  前言:

  东珠仁波切是宁玛派龙钦宁提传承的一位重要转世珠古,是第四世多智钦•图丹成利华桑仁波切的重要弟子之一。

  东珠仁波切的前世是多智钦寺原四大堪布之一的卢西堪布•贡却卓美,他被认为是格鲁派贡唐仓•丹贝卓美的转世化身。卢西堪布•贡却卓美是一位学富五车的大智者和具证的大成就者,他精通宁玛和格鲁的经续论典,还擅长医术和天文历算。他以天竺大成就者卢伊巴传承的胜乐轮金刚为本尊,一生中持诵了3亿遍胜乐轮金刚咒。通过此法门的修持,他证得了幻身成就(据说为胜义净幻身)并以此闻名。由于证得了幻身的成就者可以将自己的心意转变为本尊身前往诸清净刹土,因此在净相中,他亲见了许多佛菩萨和本尊,并得到加持和悉地。当第三世多智钦仁波切和四大堪布中的另外三位圆寂后,多智钦寺教法讲授的重任大部分落到了堪布一人的肩膀上。在此后十年多的时间里,堪布了未曾中断地讲经说法,使得多智钦寺高水准的讲学体系得以保持。当时在果洛和色达的诸多智者,很少有不是出自多智钦寺和堪布本人门下的。

  东珠仁波切于1939年出生于青海省果洛州,四岁时即被认证为多智钦寺原四大堪布之一的卢西堪布•贡却卓美的转世,并在多智钦寺坐床和接受培养。他在多智钦寺修学和生活,并成为金刚上师。他于1958年移居印度,在印度的大学内任教,此后移居美国并定居,曾经在哈佛大学担任访问学者。仁波切目前主要在从事藏传佛教尤其是宁玛派的英文研究和翻译,其译作和撰著甚丰。其作品中,已经翻译成中文的包括《西藏医心术》、《大圆满龙钦宁提传承祖师传》等。

  2004年7月,东珠仁波切回国参加母寺新建的显密讲修大经堂的开光法会。借此机会,多智钦网站的工作人员和朋友们前往仁波切下榻处拜见,对这位宁提传承的重要转世珠古进行了专访。东珠仁波切亲切地接见了大家,愉快地接受了我们的采访。由邬金诺若代表大家向东珠仁波切提出问题,仁波切逐一予以答复。围绕多智钦仁波切在传承中的重要性和龙钦宁提传承对社会的价值这两个问题,东珠仁波切为大家作了详细而系统的介绍,使问题得到了满意的厘清。随后,应大家的请求,东珠仁波切介绍了自己的一些主要作品的情况。

  访谈内容:

  (一)关于多智钦仁波切在佛教界的重要性

  问:应该如何评价多智钦仁波切在龙钦宁提传承中的地位和作用?

  东珠仁波切:

  Longchen Nyingthig was discovered by Rigdzin Jigme Lingpa in the 18th Century. He discovered it as a Ter (gTer). Ter(s) are esoteric teachings concealed mainly by Guru Padmasambhava in the 9th Century through his mystical power. Later on the rebirths of his disciples (from the 11th century until this day) kept discovering the teachings that Guru Padmasambhava had concealed. So Longchen Nyingthig teachings are the teachings given by Guru Padmasambhava in the 9th Century that were discovered by Rigdzin Jigme Lingpa in 18th Century as Ter teachings and transmitted to his disciples to practice and to meditate.

  龙钦宁提于公元十八世纪由仁增晋美林巴(持明无畏洲尊者)掘藏。他将其以“德玛”(伏藏法门)的方式发掘。“德玛”是公元九世纪时莲花生大士以其神通力伏藏起来的密法。后来(从十一世纪至今),莲师诸弟子的转世不断地发掘出莲花生大士伏藏起来的法门。因此龙钦宁提法门是莲花生大士于公元九世纪伏藏起来,由仁增晋美林巴于十八世纪发掘成为德玛法门并将其传授给他的弟子们加以观修。

  The first Dodrupchen was the principal disciple of Rigdzin Jigme Lingpa. He was known as the doctrine-holder (Chodak in Tibetan), which means that he was the main propagator of the Longchen Nyingthig transmission. So that's why, next to Rigdzin Jigme Lingpa, Dodrupchen was the most important master for the Longchen Nyingthig lineage. The First Dodrupchen brought the Longchen Nyingthig teachings from Central Tibet to Kham and Amdo. He propageted the teachings all over Eastern Tibet. The First Dodrupchen had many famous disciples in Sichuan and Qinghai. So that's why the Dodrupchen Rinpoches and Dodrupchen Monastery are very important sources of the Longchen Nyingthig tradition.

  第一世多智钦是仁增晋美林巴的主要弟子。他被冠以“法主(藏文‘却达’)”之名,这意味着他是龙钦宁提传承主要的弘传者。这就是为什么多智钦是龙钦宁提传承中仅次于仁增晋美林巴的最重要的上师。第一世多智钦将龙钦宁提法门从卫藏(西藏中部)传至康藏和安多,并将此法门弘遍东藏。第一世多智钦在四川和青海有许多著名的弟子。这就是为什么历代多智钦仁波切和多智钦寺是龙钦宁提传承非常重要的源泉之原因。

  (二)关于龙钦宁提传承对社会的价值

  问:应如何看待龙钦宁提传承对社会的价值?

  Q: What's the value of Longchen Nyingthig tradition to the society?

  问:龙钦宁提传承对社会有何价值?

  A: Any kind of Buddhist practice, whether Longchen Nyingthig or other branches of practice, will help society. The whole purpose of Buddhist teachings is to help human beings - and not only human beings, but all sentient beings. The main purpose is to bring peace and calmness to your mind. If your mind is peaceful and calm, then whatever you say will be the words of peace. And whatever you do physically will be the __expression of peace, joy, and calmness. If that's so, then it will help yourself, help others, and help the whole society.

  答:佛教中任何一种修法,无论是龙钦宁提还是其它法门,都对社会有助益。佛教法门的全部目的在于帮助人类--不仅仅是人类,而且是全体众生。其主要目的是给自心带来寂静与安详。如果你的心寂静安详,则你的任何言语都是寂静之词句,你身体所做之事会显现出寂静、喜乐与安详。如果是这样的话,这将对你自己有助益,对他人有助益,对整个社会有助益。

  The Longchen Nyingthig branch of Buddhism started in the 18th century by a great master known as Rigdzin Jigme Lingpa in Southern Tibet. Rigdzin Jigme Lingpa taught his disciples how to train their mind and how to live in simplicity. He himself did not have a big place or big monastery, but a simple livelihood and simple monastery. One of his most important teachings was that people should live in simplicity. Also at the heart of his teachings was the importance of cultivating compassion. According to Buddhism every being – even the tiniest insect – desires happiness. So Jigme Lingpa very strongly advised people to save the lives of animals. He was totally against killing animals and hurting any person, not just human beings, but even animals and insects. This is the main center of his teachings.

  佛教龙钦宁提法门于十八世纪由大阿奢黎仁增晋美林巴(持明无畏洲尊者)在西藏南部开宗。仁增晋美林巴教导他的弟子们如何修心并行持简单的生活。他自己没有庞大的住所或宏大的寺宇,而是在一座简朴的寺院中过著简单的生活。他最重要的教言之一就是人应该过简单的生活。培育悲心的重要性也是他教言的中心。佛教认为任何众生,乃至最微小的昆虫,都希求安乐。因此晋美林巴非常强烈地建议人们放生动物。他彻底反对杀生与伤害任何人--不仅仅包括人,乃至还包括动物和昆虫。此即是他的教言的主要核心。

  Then the Longchen Nyingthig branch of his teachings became very popular among Tibetan Buddhists. Many lamas of other Buddhist traditions who, although they may not have been known as Longchen Nyingthig followers, nevertheless have been practicing Longchen Nyingthig. Many of them, as you might have heard, when they died, their bodies dissolved, with only their hair and nails left behind. They attained these accomplishments because of the power of the meditation that Jigme Linpa taught.

  之后他(晋美林巴)所传下的龙钦宁提成为在西藏佛弟子中极受欢迎的法门。佛教其它传承的许多上师,虽然他们并不以龙钦宁提的追随者而闻名,但却在修持龙钦宁提法门。也许你们也有所耳闻,他们中有许多人在命终时肉身消融,只剩下头发与指(趾)甲。他们之所以证得这些成就,是因为禅修晋美林巴所传法门之力。

  So the Longchen Nyingthig teachings are very powerful to practice. The benefits of these teachings are not just limited to Jigme Lingpa's particular time in history, the 18th century. The teachings also benefit, perhaps most of all, the people of today. The reason is that his teachings are easy to follow and helpful to make us better human beings – friendly and honest. And when that happens, we will be able to help others and our whole society to live in peace and joy. That's what we all need.

  因此龙钦宁提法门是非常具力的修法。这些修法的利益并不仅仅局限于晋美林巴所在的特定历史年代--十八世纪;这些法门也许更多地利益了如今的人们。其原因在于他所传之法易于修习,会帮助我们成为友好、诚信从而更贤善的人。这些都达成时,我们就会有能力帮助他人以及整个社会实现寂静和喜悦。这是我们大家都需要的。

  This Dodrupchen Monastery is the – or one of the – most important sources and seats of the Longchen Nyingthig tradition.

  此多智钦寺是龙钦宁提传承最重要(或者说最重要之一)的源泉与法座。
